Lutino colors and their regular color counterpart

Lutino is a rare color gene, first discovered at a rabbbitry in Denmark in 1985. The gene works similar to the chinchilla gene except instead of stripping out the red and yellow pigment, the Lutino gene strips away the black or brown base color. Self black is lightened to a pinkish tan color called Dove and chocolate Lutino is a lighter version called champagne. The yellow pigment remains so the non extension colors like orange,  red and torts remain that color, although torts are missing their dark shading which instead becomes cream or white in those areas. Oranges and reds lose their smut. 

The gene also causes the eyes to become lighter and often, a lavender color.

The Lutino gene is a simple recessive gene. This means you need both parents to be Lutino or carry for Lutino to produce a baby in the Lutino color.
